Too many scary people getting rich for people to do the right thing, I guess. Instead they want to ballance the budget on the backs of the old, the poor, the sick, and children.

And do have to pay more taxes this year? I sure hope not! But I guess that’s what I have to do when I’m an adult. If I refused to pay taxes, I would have stayed in high school!

Are even the liberals now able to see that the economic cliff is looming just ahead–and Obama is putting a brick on the accelerator.

I think President Obama pretty much schooled Boehner and his pathetic cronies but I guess some deluded people think the Republicans came out on top in this.

I’m taking a cruise to Mexico in November, one of the stops is in Acapulco. I’d love to see the cliff divers while I’m there. There is little information on them on line, I’d like to know where they are in relation to the cruise ship docks (is it in walking distance?) The cruise line offers a shore excursion for $59 that includes the cliff divers, if I see them on my own, it’s about $3 each. If it’s a reasonably short walk, I’d rather just see the divers, otherwise, I’ll pay the extra money to take the excursion.

The general consensus is that Cliff Fletcher was brought on board for the remainder of the season to trade the Leafs limited assets for a brighter future, namely Mats Sundin…..I guess that backfired.

Also…….Mats Sundin said he doesn’t believe in rental players and believes a season is not 2 months but from October until June. Actually……..this is the quote-

“I have never believed in the concept of a rental player. It is my belief that winning the Stanley Cup is the greatest thing you can achieve in hockey but for me, in order to appreciate it you have to have been part of the entire journey and that means October through June. I hope everyone will understand and respect my decision.”

Does he realize when he says October through JUNE that he is in TORONTO where there is no May or June?

Players get payed for the regular season, not the play-offs…could this be a factor?
Actually, a quote I read today has me thinking that maybe a reprieve is in order……….”Mats could go and try to win a cup somewhere else but he doesn’t want to win a cup for himself…he wants to win one for the fans of Toronto.”

I found some loyalty in that but at the same time I think him waiving his no trade clause would have put the reality of a Toronto cup closer to happening so I don’t totally buy it.
Heavysoviet- These guys (well, 99% of them) don’t want to just “play in the NHL”- they play for one thing…to win the cup. It certainly wouldn’t be good enough for me to just be in the NHL.

Zata- I think many players may disagree…..take someone like Ray Bourque (perfect example actually)…if you asked him the highlight of his career, I am sure he would say the Stanley Cup. While I am sure he would have preferred it happened in Boston, I don’t think he is complaining.

For the final scene of a season of a TV Show the Deuteragonist in a the show you liked but never quite trusted due to his unpredictablility walks home and sees a nearby resting spot. He sits there for awhile calmly and then anxiousley observes the area. He looks down down at the grass and picks it up and lets it go. Then he abruptly looks into the tv screen and smiles with evil features which ends the show with the credits. Would you be looking forward to the next season?
To make things more interesting the season before he was the bad guy who was capable of doing unforgivable things. At the start of this season he vowed to change his ways and did but was still a ticking time bomb. Whenever he made his trademark evil grin it meant that he was going to do something evil.
